International Day of the Child. We are very grateful to Mrs. Doris Marquez our Director of Faith Formation and the many who provided for our celebration last Sunday. Many people, a lot of food, many opportunities for community building, and many resources were mane available.
Confirmations: We are grateful for our Bishop Rojas who joined us for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. More than 100 persons that were Confirmed! The event was filled with joy and reverence. All of these young persons have now been entrusted to our care. And, thank each of you for all the sacrifice that made the celebration possible: catechists and parents and Godparents, choir, and sacristans – AND most especially, the persons who provided all the clean up early in the day.
May 12, happy Mothers Day. The joyful occasion that will begin in our community on the 10th of May will be celebrated at each of the liturgies this coming weekend. The Mass intention for each liturgy will be for each of the moms, among us and those who are at the Lord’s side in eternal rest.
May 17, at 6:30 p.m. in our church. Please make sure you have the date set on your agendas. We will be meeting with representatives of the city and county. Two words: Community and Resilience. Community is not simply a designated population, it is more than that. It has to do with persons who have a sense of being responsible for one’s neighbor. Resilience is what we cultivate in this type of community – together we will always be able to do much more. Coming together with representatives of city and county, will allow us to foster an even greater sense of community that will empower us to move together into the future.
Preparation for the feast of Pentecost. Among the prayerful preparation that is taking place in small communities, we have the Novena to the Holy Spirit proposed in English by the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate. This will take place using Zoom. The link will be available on Facebook and Instagram.
